The WHS Robotics Team "Peg Pals" received two great awards at the regional tournament in Sacramento on December 6, which was attended by 32 teams from the greater Sacramento and northern California area. The Peg Pals earned 1st Place in Robot Performance, with the only perfect score of 400 points! In addition, the team earned the 2nd place Robot Design award, which is a judged award that combines mechanical design and programming. Congratulations Peg Pals!!

The WHS robotics teams completed their first tournament on Nov 15. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped out! The Three Robotiers team scored 3rd place in Robot Performance out of 12 tough teams, and the Peg Pals team scored 2nd place in Robot Performance! After combined scoring from the research project and judging areas as well, the Peg Pals were invited to attend a "2nd level" tournament for the entire greater Sacramento region. The current date for this is tournament is Sunday December 6 in Sacramento, save the date, and stay tuned for more info.

We are hosting a FIRST LEGO League robotics tournament in Meadow Vista this year, on Sunday November 15. Twelve teams will be participating from the foothills and greater Sacramento area. We will need a number of volunteers to help out, and for several of the positions, we are required to use adults that are not currently affiliated with the program (to avoid worries about bias). Most positions require no experience or knowledge about robotics. Attending both of these will be teams from the northern Sacramento/foothills area, such as El Dorado Hills, Folsom, Granite Bay, Roseville, and Meadow Vista. We are hosting both of these events, and will need volunteers for various jobs (team registration, timekeeper, score runner, etc). Let me know if you can help out.
